Adobe Illustrator Maple Leaf Template

Right click (PC) or Control click (Mac) to save the template file onto your compter. The template is a monochrome, bitmap image, saved as a gif file. In order to use it as a template in Adobe Illustrator, it must be "placed" into Illustrator from the File Menu - File>Place. Place a bitmap into Illustrator in order to "trace" over it.

A file placed as a "template" appears on a "locked" layer and is "dimmed" to a gray as a default action resulting from placing a raster image as a template.

Your trace over the image should be done on a new layer, as the template layer remains locked so as not to disturb its position.
